Decorating With Mirrors

Mirrors are one of my favorite things to add to a room’s decor.

I love decorating with mirrors, sometimes I have to stop myself from adding too many!

Nine out of ten times I’ll hang a mirror over a fireplace in lieu of a piece of art.

This type of focal point, takes the pressure off finding that one special “center piece” work of art.

And, I love the way a beautiful mirror will bounce light around in a room.

From sunbursts to squares, round and rectangle – there’s so many chic options available these days.

Regardless if your home is more traditional, mid century modern style, contemporary or boho, (you get the gist) there are plenty of different style mirrors for you to choose from.

Currently, I’m on the hunt for a full length mirror with a chic silver finish, and also a round beveled mirror with a copper frame, so if you know of any, let me know in the comments!

Interior designers always use a variety of mirrors in their projects.

The following examples are some of the mirrors in my own home.

I hope these images help to illustrate how versatile and chic decorative mirrors are!

Finally, over at the bottom of this post- I’ve rounded up some of my absolute favorite decorative mirrors.

I hope you’re able to get some useful inspiration for finding the best decorative mirrors for your own home.

I also love all the round mirrors in this post!

Odd shaped mirrors always add a lot of personality to a small space.

As you can see, I tend to be drawn to mostly metal framed or metal finishes when it comes to mirrors.

And, of course I can never have enough sunburst mirrors in my life.

For example this one above, from our front entry in Florida.

If space allows, it’s always fun to get a little creative with bathroom mirrors.

rectangle wall mirror in living room
Living room wall color here is Benjamin Moore Cape Hatteras Sand.

This rectangular mirror in a our living room is another personal favorite.

Opposite a window like this, it adds a lot of natural light to this side of the room.

I love to use a round mirror over a square or rectangular bathroom vanity.

This creates a nice, subtle contrast.

And, I always prefer a framed mirror hung on the wall instead of a typical builder’s mirror glued on above a sink.
