One Room Challenge: Week Four

We’ve arrived at week four of the One Room Challenge and things are humming right along in our guest bathroom. As you can see, not only did I choose a light, but it has arrived (thanks to Maddie G. Design and her speedy service) and my electrician was able to install it, as well as swap the old flush mount out for a simple high hat.

The marble counter top was also cut and installed. I need to get the plumber back here to re-install the faucet, he should be here later this week.

The wallpaper is on it’s way and I’m currently shopping for a brass mirror to go above the sink and some brass hardware for the vanity.

The hardware shopping has been pretty straightforward. I found these simple brass pulls at Rejuvenation Hardware. I’m still poking around to look at a few others, but I’m about 99% sure that these will be the ones.

Tripping me up just a bit is the mirror selection. As you know from the inspiration image, I’ve had my heart set on a large round brass mirror. West Elm carries a beautiful one and I think the size will work in the space. I’ve measured it and even drew a circle to scale right on the wall! It looks a bit cramped and I’m not completely convinced this will work.

There is another mirror, also from West Elm that is catching my eye. The unusual hexagon shape is a bit more narrow and could work perfectly in this space. I’m thinking about ordering both and then testing out which one looks best in person.

I'm partial to the round mirror too, but then again that hex is so COOL—and you mention the narrow size will work great in the space, so I bet you will go with it. Can't wait to see how it all comes together.

  6. Love the light – so chic. I like the round mirror better, but of course I can't tell what's more appropriate scale-wise.

I adore that light, and the marble counter top! I'd go with the round mirror myself, but I can see either in this space. 🙂
