Are False Eyelashes Right For You?
Have you noticed the amount of attention eyelashes are getting these days?
Bigger, longer, darker, fuller –
Like most women I know, when it comes to our eyelashes we always want more!
So I went and had my lashes professionally “done”-not once, but twice!
Only to learn the false eyelash look is really not for me.
The false lashes looked great in photos (I had the first set done for an event) but, during everyday life, I felt too self conscious with even the most natural individual lash application on.
In fact, I was sure these dramatic lashes were somehow highlighting my “mature” skin around my eyes, by drawing so much attention to them.
Granted this was probably more in my head than reality…but if we don’t feel our best, we don’t look our best, right?
I ended up having the second set of lashes professionally removed.
Since then, I decided to boost my own set of natural lashes by applying NeuLash every night.
I really see a difference.
Also, I switched to this fabulous new to me mascara – love the lash applicator and it’s staying power.
Along with a little black eyeliner right on the lash line and a dab of highlighter just under the brow bone, this “less is more” (but more than nothing) approach to big, bold eyelashes is much more my style.
Plus, I can take it all off at night…
At least I got the whole fake eyelashes trend out of my system!
Other beauty purchases.
Other new beauty finds include this amazing all natural eye serum, a lovely and light lip balm-recommended to me by a makeup artist.
And, my new sleek hair iron, which won my heart with these three words: “automatic shut off.”
Have you ever tried false eyelashes or lash extensions?
What did you think?
What’s new in your beauty routine these days?
PS: Clean, cruelty free beauty products I’m loving.
I tried the Newlash but my eyes were puffy in the morning.
I agree with you. All the lash extensions and over the top latisse (ing) seem kinda creepy to me in the real world. I stick with my Pumped Up Colossal Volum Express by Maybelline. Cheap but so effective! Its my drugstore beauty addiction!
