Christmas Popcorn Recipe

If you’re looking for a fun and super easy treat to make for your family and friends this holiday season, today’s Christmas Popcorn Recipe is for you!

I’m always up for a snack which has both sweet and salty going on at once (total guilty pleasure.)

Popcorn is a staple in our home. In fact, my daughter says her friends call our pantry the “skinny pop” closet. So, turning one of our favorite snacks into a festive holiday treat to serve or gift seems like an obvious choice here.

We added a few extras to ours, but you only really need about five ingredients and very little kitchen “know how.”

In fact this recipe is SO easy, I’m sure it’s going to become an annual holiday tradition around here.

If you decide to try this. let me know how it came out!

Christmas Popcorn Recipe

Ingredients:

– 6 cups pre-popped popcorn (we like skinny pop)
– 5 Tbs butter
– 5 cups mini marshmallows + 1 ½ cups marshmallows
– 1 cup red and green peanut m&ms
– 1 cup pretzels, roughly chopped
Candy melts (we used green here)
– Sprinkles, optional we used these adorable snow flake ones!

Directions:

In a medium sized sauce pan over medium heat, melt butter.

Once butter is melted add in 5 cups mini marshmallows and stir until melted.

Once melted, take sauce pan off of stove and pour in popcorn and stir until almost fully combined. Add in 1 ½ cups marshmallows. Finish mixing popcorn completely. You
want your last half of marshmallows to be fully incorporated but only half melted (see photos.) Place popcorn on cookie sheet.

Melt candy melts and coat popcorn.

Add on m&ms, pretzels, and sprinkles and gently press in into the popcorn with the palm of your hand.

Allow popcorn to cool and set. Once cooled, break popcorn apart and serve.

Enjoy!

Notes:
– Store in airtight container for up to 1 week.
– You can add all sorts of toppings to this! The sky is the limit!
– If you have a popcorn maker, feel free to pop the popcorn yourself!
