I’m getting ready to finally make good on my promise to my oldest (eleven year old) daughter. She’s been asking me for months to turn her girlie “big girl” room into a more sophisticated stylish bedroom. Since I’m not looking to redo the entire space, the hope is that with some thoughtful tweaks (for my tween), we can both decide on a few key purchases to upgrade the look of the room. Today, I will go over these images with her, to see if we are at least on the same page. Wish me luck!
In addition to these photos, I will be showing my daughter this post from Velvet and Linen. The redo of Brooke’s daughter’s bedroom came out so beautiful. And, we’ll take a look at Holly’s bedroom inspiration over at Things That Inspire as well.
They are all very stylish! That second room is my favorite. She's lucky to have a stylish mom like you who is willing to make changes! I hope you share the after pictures. 🙂

The "LOVE" room is my favourite here and the entire selection of ideas could make any teen girl super happy and inspired. Look forward to seeing the result. x

i LOVE all of these!! but i think i would have to go with the first one. i'd be happy with that room now 🙂
We're doing the same thing for my almost 9-year-old! We had to obliterate the pink. She wants blue and green, so the first and fourth photos are really what we're going for. I'll have to share these with her! We've already painted her room and got the bedding but the rest is a work in progress. You can check out the before and thoughts on in it here: http://myinteriorlife.blogspot.com/2010/12/freedom-of-choice.html
I love all of these rooms and I am sure your daughter will too! Can'[t wait to see what you guys decide on and how it turns out!
Hope you're having a fabulous week!

These are all so beautiful! What a lucky girl to be able to have input on her room – sure beats the orange, rust and gold paisley carpet I had to live with as a kid (which only matched with those same solid colours) – I SO wanted a pink room!

How fun, I saw Hollys inspiration and she had some really good images to choose from.I love doing childrens rooms they are my fav to do. I am having so much fun working on my playroom for older kids. I love love them all- adore the idea of an upholstered headboard and the patterned carpet is so fun in an otherwise fairly neutral room. Can't wait to see what you both come up with.
Am I too old to pass as your daughter? I would love any of these rooms and I promise never to talk back, put away my things and eat my vegetables…

Is it sad that I'd love some of these spaces for MYSELF? Ha! Needless to say, the inspiration files are looking fantastic — I do hope you'll share the final product!
WOW – I love the pictures you unearthed for this post! I am showing my oldest daughter picture #4. Not her color palette, but I think she will like the overall style. I thought the cool chair might be from West Elm, but I don't see it on their website. Any idea where it is from? Great post!
I love blue for a girls room… I have a friend who is putting her boy and girl in one bedroom- its manhattan after all- and she wanted to know what to do. I had so many ideas! Navy + Red or Coral/ Navy and lavender and of course, powder blue.
LOVE all these rooms — your daughter is one lucky girl!
They are all stunning! The second one is my favorite – something about that wallpaper! Just found your blog and love it! Wanted to stop by and say hey and that I'm a new follower 🙂
Have a great night!

I know it will be awesome 🙂 I am totally missing out on the girl fun when it comes to decorating! XO
Love these. My little one is 10, and we made a few changes to her room, but we have some more tweaking to do.
Love the bright pinks and greens in the rooms.
Hope you would come up with something wonderful!!
These are darling rooms. Beautiful colors, fresh and light. I'm sure your daughter will love the inspiration!
I adore both rooms with the day beds, but I think the pink is my favorite for style and the blue is my favorite for function (the built-in desk is amazing).
I adore all these images! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
