Highlights From The Kips Bay Decorator Show House

If you follow my Instagram stories then you know I went to the press preview for the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in New York City last week. I had such a great time viewing all the fabulous rooms in this seven level upper east side town house. There are 22 of the best designers participating in this year’s fundraiser, so it’s impossible to showcase them all here. In fact, I had so many favorites, I had to edit down this post twice!

The Kips Bay Show House is a great way to see the up and coming trends in design. I couldn’t help but notice a lot of curved couches and Art Deco pieces in general. Wallpaper was very popular, especially on the ceilings.  Two standout wallpapers were murals and Phillip Jeffries’ cracked cork, which after seeing it in person, I’m now obsessed with!

  1. Did she get hurt, Sasha Bikoff, when she fell from the top of the stairs with her paint and wallpaper in hand splashing it everywhere.

Well, those pictures made up my mind as to whether or not I was willing to schlep down to the city to see the show. Nope. I will stick to local showhouses that bear some semblance of reality/sanity. I know showhouses are “over the top” but this is too much for me.
