Christmas In Connecticut

Holiday Home Decor Ideas

Right now, so many people have the holidays on their minds.

Specifically, getting their homes ready in time. So I thought I’d talk about some beautiful holiday home decor ideas here today.

I love to see how other people decorate their homes for the holidays.

Not only do I get a few ideas for our own holiday decor, but it’s also a helpful reminder for me to just get started!

So of course I was pretty excited to see One Kings Lane president Debbie Probst’s home all decked out for Christmas.

Having seen Debbie’s beautiful house in person, it was very motivating to see how just a few simple tweaks can make a home feel so festive.

I especially love the idea of adding greenery to a mantle or staircase, something I’ve never attempted to do, despite loving the look so much.

Since we finally caved and bought a faux, pre-lit tree  (best decision ever) I might look into adding a little fresh greenery for the seasonal fir scent. Although last year, this candle seemed to do the trick!

What’s your personal holiday home decor style? Do you like to mix it up every year with different ideas? Or, stick to the tried and true traditions? Let me know in the comments, I’m always so curious about stuff like this.

On an entirely separate note, Debbie’s federal style mirror over her fireplace is something I’ve been personally hunting for ever since visiting this gorgeous house.

Maybe Santa will bring us one;)

Hi Sue! I go all out. I used to do real greenery on the mantel and bannister, but now I use faux magnolia entertwined with faux cedar and pine. Most of it came from my store, but you can get such nice faux stuff now…
We have a real tree and it’s covered with ornaments of all types.
I do a lot of little vignettes here and there and then I do add fresh greenery from my yard closer to Christmas, so that it doesn’t get too crunchy by the holiday.
