Home Tour: Traditional Meets Modern in Washington, D.C.

Traditional homes with a modern twist will always be my favorite. So it’s no surprise this beautiful Federal style house designed by Lauren Liess completely captivated my attention. If you’re not familiar with Lauren’s work, she’s a fabulous designer, blogger, author and most recently an HGTV star!

There’s so many great takeaways from these perfectly styled rooms. In particular, the gorgeous modern lighting and the fun use of bold color in the kitchen. Not to mention the show stopping Cowtan and Tout wallpaper in the bedroom below. The print is called Botanique Spectaculaire (it’s the very same print we have on our family room chairs!)
