The Mayflower

I can’t believe it’s been four years since I was lucky enough to escape to the Mayflower Inn and Spa, in scenic Washington, Connecticut.  For a whole week I stayed at this amazing respite. Relaxing within the walls of these beautiful spaces was a complete and total indulgence. It was here that I was first exposed to color coded bookcases…(as in calming white only please), an abundance of mercury glass, as well as some really fabulous artwork.  I remember being very taken with all of it. Such an incredible get away, enhanced with yoga classes, treatments, seminars and amazing food.  I would love to plan my return…but in the mean time I guess I’ll just have to settle for these lovely photographic reminders.

My actual room…a design departure from the spa building, but equally as chic.

  12. Sue,
I can't believe you posted about this place today as I was just looking at a tidbit on this gem in the Westchester Health and Life magazine. The image of the chaise lounges positioned to look out onto the property has me sold to book a getaway there!

I am a huge spa sook (Australian word for softie) and have a dream of at least once in my life travel to Bali and spend a two to three weeks at one of their detox spas… Aaaah.. can you imagine the bliss. No kids, no phones, no toxins, no stress..
In fact, I will call you before I book so that you can come with me..! 🙂

    Hugs
