J.K. Place Hotel, Florence

I’m still putting together a post on the best parts of our recent trip to Italy, but I thought I’d share the magnificent hotel we were lucky enough to stay in during our trip to Florence. The beautiful J.K.Place Fiorenze lived up to all my expectations (as it was highly recommended by several friends) – and much like the boutique Hotel Recaimer that I visited this past spring in Paris, J.K. Place Florence had all the qualities that I value in a great hotel…safe, very clean, quiet, great service, amazing location and best of all, beautiful and memorable decor. The original ceilings and architectural details of this restored townhouse were two of my favorite aspects, but every inch of this hotel is truly beyond chic.

The first two photos here are from my Instagram account. I still can’t get over the view of Florence we had from our bathroom! I had intended to photograph a lot more of these stunning spaces, but we did so much site seeing each day that I was too exhausted (to literally focus🙂 Since the architect/designer of this hotel, Michele Bonan is very well known, I knew once we got home that I’d be able to find images of the hotel online. Sure enough, I found the rest of these photos over on Lonny, where the other two J.K. properties in both Capri and Rome were featured as well. Needless to say, not only do I hope to return to J.K. Florence one day, but J.K. Capri is now officially on my bucket list!

Celebrate Summer Home Tour

Today I’m taking part in a “celebrate summer home tour” – created by Julie Blanner. I’m featuring some rooms of my home that I’ve filled up with flowers…my favorite way to add a little color all year long, but especially in the summer.

Lately it’s been unseasonably cold here in Connecticut, so most of these photos are from last spring and summer. The temps are supposed to heat up and stay up this week, so I’m hoping to finally fill up our front stoop pots with some fresh ferns and some boxwood topiaries this year.

I’m also planning to visit the Farmer’s Market and pick up some more fresh flowers there. Of course, once it really warms up, I’ll have my hydrangeas to pick and snip all summer long. Right now we’re on the tail end of the lilacs, (I’ve placed them in little vases all over) but hopefully the rest our landscaping flowers won’t be too far behind.
