Obsession Du Jour: Jackbilt Homes

Last week I stumbled upon the above image over on Pinterest. I was so drawn to this one simple vignette and immediately wanted to see the rest of this charming space. A quick google images search led me to the site of Atlanta home builder, Jackbilt Homes (and I’m so glad that it did).

The stunning fixtures, built-ins and custom touches throughout these beautiful homes just took my breath away…hope you enjoy and find as much inspiration as I did!

Front Foyer Entry Decor and Ideas

Talking about some front foyer entry decor ideas here today…

Specifically the three silhouttes

The Three Silhouettes in our Front Foyer

I always get questions about our silhouette artwork.

These three pieces are easily my favorite “things” in the house. So, today I thought I’d share a little more about these pieces.

The silhouettes are the work of New York City artist, Carter Kustera.

I still remember the very first time I saw Carter’s silhouette artwork. It was on the dressing room walls of the co-op of Barneys New York.

This was back in 2008. I’d been looking for something to place on the walls of our front entry stairs for years.

As soon as I saw the bold modern colors mixed with the traditional silhouette idea I was sold.

I later was able to find Carter’s work for sale over at  Jonathan Adler.

Guest Bathroom Renovation Reveal

The end of the One Room Challenge is always a lot of fun.

I’m excited to show off our freshly zhushed guest bathroom renovation.

You might remember from Week One, that we had a plain, builder grade bathroom that lacked personality.

Renovation Design Inspiration for our Guest Bathroom

While it looks nothing like the original inspiration photo, having something/anything to inspire you in the beginning of a project can be a great jumping off point.

In this instance, it inspired me to go with some brass elements and some patterned wallpaper.

I’ve listed all the sources at the bottom of this post.

Unfortunately, the shower curtain and brass toilet paper holder I’d ordered arrived after the photos were taken late last week, at this point I’m not even sure the room needs them…

PS: Don’t miss the before and after of laundry room one room challenge here!
