Progress Peeks: Our New House

Six Month Progress Update

It’s been a while (six months!) since I’ve given an update on the design progress here at our house.

There’s been a few changes here and there and I’m hoping to get a lot of new projects started and maybe even finished this summer.

The latest addition to the decor was finally deciding on window treatments for our family room.

I went with simple bamboo shades and love how they look.

This is the third job local window treatment company Fullam’s has done for us (not sponsored, or affiliated) and they are such a pleasure to work with I would happily use them again.

Another new purchase was this pretty blue embroidered lumbar pillow , ordered after seeing it in person in the One Kings Lane Connecticut House.

The upstairs sitting area is now complete and it looks like Cosmo has staked it out as his own space (#spoiledpup).

In the dining room I added some much needed color with a stunning fuschia orchid.

However, since I took this photo, it’s not doing as well as I had hoped.

I’m going to need to figure out a more permanent solution for this space…maybe some colorful art? Or maybe I’ll replace the real orchids with some reliable faux ones!

Finally, in the kitchen…after tweaking with the shelves and styling of this area several different ways, I’ve arrived at this set up which not only looks and feels right, but has a practical side to it as well.
