If you love admiring the deep blue sea every time you’re at the beach, why not bring those same vibes and energy into a beach-themed bathroom?

One of the best ways to do this is simply using the color blue in your coastal decor.

Perhaps this seems so obvious, but choosing beach bathroom decor like wallpaper with a blue color palette will add instant beach appeal.

Another idea is to paint the upper portions of your bathroom walls with sea blue colors to create a sky-like illusion.

Truly, there are endless ways to incorporate a blue color scheme into your designs.

White Subway Tile

In addition to the fun wallpaper in various shades of blue here, we chose to make this bathroom vanity the focal point of this beach house bathroom.

For a clean look in this small space, we went with a minimal white subway tile backsplash surround.

Keep It Serene

Muted or neutral colors are among the most recommended cottage bathroom colors by interior designers.

These restrained colors create a spa-like soothing space.

Of course you can use these same calming neutral colors in other areas of the home, such as the living room and the powder room. 

The ocean artwork above the bathtub is our small nod to a low key nautical theme.

Adding a wicker basket or two is a great way to incorporate a little texture with natural materials.

Light fixtures in brass tones can add a nautical, coastal feel to a bathroom.

Finally, you can throw in a coastal fragrance around the bathroom.

These are available in candles, sprays and soaps.

Sea and maritime scents will give you that tropical beach appeal.

And, a guest bath or powder room is the perfect place to add one of these.

You can also opt for natural beach shells for that added authenticity.
