Back in 2014, I updated my middle daughter’s room from a little girl’s room to a more grown up tween girl’s room. Shortly after making those changes we ended up moving to our house here in Connecticut. In her new room, as per her directions, we went with Benjamin Moore’s Decorator White on her walls and kept the windows very minimal with only white horizontal blinds. We added this fun mod bubble chair last year. I love how the room looks, but my daughter, who will be turning 15 this month (can’t handle it) has asked to make a few updates.
After reaching a compromise on what will and will not be changed, I’d thought I’d share our plans here. The first thing to go will be the little bookcase bench at the end of her bed. She’s had it since she was a toddler and we both agreed it’s time to move on. I’d like to add another silver metallic pouf (there’s already one in the room) and put both at the foot of the bed.
We’ll also be replacing the two little round night stands. She needs more storage and this option with three drawers seems like a good fit. We’ll be swapping out the monogram and decorative pillows along with the green throw for a more streamline, cleaner look. I’ve picked out a few new pillow options to go with the all white bedding (which is staying) below.
Finally, I’ve agreed to replace the two bedside lamps with either these or these and we are going to get some new art on the walls to reflect her own evolving style. I hope to have these updates done and the room finished in time for summer. Wish us luck!

Where did you find the floor stand for the bubble chair? Love it!
Definitely needs some pops of colors in there!! Those French lamps are fab, btw…..and much more reasonable in price! Maybe even the red or charcoal options would make the whole room pop! Have fun!!
Love.
