Beach House Renovation Weekend

I’m feeling a lot better this week.

Thanks so much for your sweet comments and emails!

Now I guess I just have to keep vigilant about handwashing and not watch too much of the never-ending news….

Planning on working on our beach house renovation this weekend. We sort of slacked off and there’s still SO much to do.

We ordered the wrong size glass shower doors, UGH.

So I need to deal with this headache before anything else…wish me luck!

Here’s this week’s round up of sales and links…

Athena Calderone (I’m a huge fan of her designs) has a new book coming out and it looks amazing.

LOVE the shape of this reversible tote.

Never thought I’d say this...but I think I need a pair of high rise culottes!

Pretty excited about this Judy Bloom movie news.

These sneakers are currently in my cart…hope I can pull them off!

Beach House Bathroom Wallpaper Ideas

beach house bathroom wallpaper ideas

Let’s talk about beach house bathroom wallpaper ideas today.

I need to quickly pick a wallpaper for the upstairs guest bathroom in our Rhode Island renovation.

So, I thought I’d bring you up to date on the progress happening with this project.

Especially because it’s time to make some design decisions in our new beach house renovation.

Back to the guest bathroom…

This large bathroom has SO much potential.

There’s an old fashioned claw foot tub, plenty of windows and a lot of interesting angles on the walls.

Above is a before photo with the old wallpaper on the walls. We’ve already removed this.

We’ve also gone ahead and had the old tiles replaced.

I’ve included a photo of the new dolomite white tiles below.

They look great and really help to brighten up the space!

We’re going to replace the dark counter tops with bright quartz ones.

Which leads to the wallpaper decision at hand.

I’ve narrowed down our choices to the ones listed below. However, I’m still also considering all these fabulous papers as well!

There’s been a lot of progress throughout the home. If you’re curious you can take a quick video tour of it here!

Our Black Glossy Powder Room: Before and Afters

Powder Room Before and Afters
This post was originally posted back in 2016, but I’ve updated it…a lot!:)

Powder Room Before and Afters

Our dark powder room is one of my favorites. I love how this whole space came together!

It’s dark and dramatic-exactly what I’d envisioned.

As you can see from the one “before” photo below, that’s not how it started out.

Powder Room Vanity Lucite Leg Sink

I get a lot of emails with questions about the sink in this bathroom.

That was reason enough to write a post about this space.

I LOVE the look of our powder room sink, however, it didn’t come easy.

I’d originally seen similar sinks with Lucite legs on a few blogs and over on Pinterest. I sent some images to Muse Interiors, hoping they could track down the manufacturer. This turned out to be a dead end.

The sink I was hoping to buy didn’t exist at the time. So frustrating!

What we were able to find was a company based out of Texas, Palmer Industries. They specialize in custom sink legs, including the Lucite ones I was looking for.

Thankfully, I had the team over at Muse to help me navigate the rest of the parts needed to put together an actual working sink!

Once the legs were sourced and ordered we still needed a bowl, faucet set, vanity counter top and pipes, not to mention a plumber to put it all together.

At the time I was surprised that a home decor company like Waterworks or Restoration Hardware hadn’t come out with an easier “ready to wear” version…but now, sure enough theres one on the market!

I found this beautiful sink over on Wayfair.

I WISH this existed a few years ago. It would’ve gotten us to the same look for less money and a lot less time! Oh well!

Powder Room Decor

Back to the powder room as a whole.

The gorgeous wallpaper is Farrow and Ball’s Lotus print, the mirror is by Carver’s Guild and the black glossy paint is Fine Paints of Europe.

I’ve listed a few more sources for the little decorative accessories at the bottom.

If there’s still some questions about this room, please let me know in the comments.
