I would love to see your ideas on visually separating an open plan living, dining, and kitchen. Having always lived with walls and doors, this open concept is tough, especially if you like different feelings and colors for each room. Thanks for your blog. It is exceptional!

Great question. If it's a personal item, like a cosmetic bag or a tissue box (first photo above- those are my initials, not mine and my husband's combined, like on our guest towels and pillow cases) I think it's fine to use just her initials.
I've often thought of gifting my step-daughter with monogramed item, but she has retained her maiden name. If the gift is for the shared marital home, what's the etiquette in this situation? BTW, love your blog! #hardtogift
