our master bedroom sitting room
The other day, while my regular desk top was updating itself, I borrowed my son’s laptop which used to be mine.
That’s how I came to find these photos of our master bedroom sitting room from a few years ago. I’m not sure if I ever posted them here.
I only wish I had thought to take “before” photos of this space.
The lack of windows in this spot really bothered me when we first came to look at this house a few years ago. It’s probably why I didn’t bother to photograph a dark and empty area.
Fast forward to today and it’s now one of my favorite spaces in the house.
This formerly awkward area is now a cozy little nook. It’s so nice to read or relax in here.
As for the lack of natural light, we added a large mirror on the far wall. This allowed us to to capture some light from the other room – which is our actual bedroom.
With the help of Muse Interiors, our interior designers on this project, we installed a pretty and practical built-in console in the small recess of the larger wall.
Then we opted for a light blue paint color for the ceiling to add a little more levity to this space.
UPDATE: The ceiling color here is Benjamin Moore Morning Sky Blue .

We used some of our previous home’s living room furniture (like our coffee table) along with a few new pieces ( this table and these throw pillows) to help warm the space up.

Beautiful!
What color is this master bedroom sitting room?
I need to look it up!
Lowkey jealous because you decorate the space so well. Wonderful job! It’s simple yet personal and charming. I love it!
Question! How do you guys go about visualizing what you want in a space?
This is a beautiful space! If you get the tv and want to let go of the blue art, let me know and I'll zip to NC and pick it up from you. Also that chandelier from Neiman Marcus – what an amazing price!! 🙂
It is so lovely and inviting Sue! amazingly light-filled! I love it!
