Happy Friday. Last weekend I came down with the worst cold, so very little got done around here.
My oldest just came home from college for her winter break, so this weekend we’re (hopefully) going to get our act together in terms of getting a tree up, etc!
While I was recovering, I did manage to watch a lot of tv and movies…including A Marriage Story (sad, but very good) and Twentieth Century Woman – also very good, but a little sad!
The other day, while my regular desk top was updating itself, I borrowed my son’s laptop which used to be mine.
That’s how I came to find these photos of our master bedroom sitting room from a few years ago. I’m not sure if I ever posted them here.
I only wish I had thought to take “before” photos of this space.
The lack of windows in this spot really bothered me when we first came to look at this house a few years ago. It’s probably why I didn’t bother to photograph a dark and empty area.
Fast forward to today and it’s now one of my favorite spaces in the house.
This formerly awkward area is now a cozy little nook. It’s so nice to read or relax in here.
As for the lack of natural light, we added a large mirror on the far wall. This allowed us to to capture some light from the other room – which is our actual bedroom.
With the help of Muse Interiors, our interior designers on this project, we installed a pretty and practical built-in console in the small recess of the larger wall.
Then we opted for a light blue paint color for the ceiling to add a little more levity to this space.
