Our Master Bedroom Sitting Room

The other day, while my regular desk top was updating itself, I borrowed my son’s laptop which used to be mine.

That’s how I came to find these photos of our master bedroom sitting room from a few years ago. I’m not sure if I ever posted them here.

I only wish I had thought to take “before” photos of this space.

The lack of windows in this spot really bothered me when we first came to look at this house a few years ago. It’s probably why I didn’t bother to photograph a dark and empty area.

Fast forward to today and it’s now one of my favorite spaces in the house.

This formerly awkward area is now a cozy little nook. It’s so nice to read or relax in here.

As for the lack of natural light, we added a large mirror on the far wall. This allowed us to to capture some light from the other room – which is our actual bedroom.

With the help of Muse Interiors, our interior designers on this project, we installed a pretty and practical built-in console in the small recess of the larger wall.

Then we opted for a light blue paint color for the ceiling to add a little more levity to this space.

UPDATE: The ceiling color here is Benjamin Moore Morning Sky Blue .

Find out more about ceiling paint colors here!

We used some of our previous home’s living room furniture (like our coffee table) along with a few new pieces ( this table and these throw pillows) to help warm the space up.

Weekend Wrap Up

Artwork Website + New Instagram Update

Almost every member of my family feels like they’re “coming down with something” this week. UGH. Winter hasn’t even begun and I’m over it already.

In lighter news, I’m keeping super busy trying to get my artwork website and my new Instagram in order.

Feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day sometimes…

But, on to this week’s round up! Hope you have a great weekend!

Holiday Home Decor Prep

As you know, the holidays are right around the corner.

Since we’ll be hosting both Christmas and Chanukah, I’ve officially gone into hostess planning mode this week. Holiday home prep is now high on my to-do list.

Anticipating a house full of guests, my first plan of action is to get the house in order. Extra throw blankets and sweet little holiday home decor accents are on their way as I write this.

With free shipping on all orders over $35. and a bevy of affordable yet stylish options, I’m shopping up a pre-holiday storm over on Walmart.

In fact, just last week I ordered this lovely woven basket, seen in our master bedroom above. Thanks to super fast (and free) shipping, (as you can see) it’s already here!

Check out all the cute holiday seasonal finds over at Walmart. I know you’re going to love these picks and the budget-friendly price as well.
