From the wall color choices to the more neutral colors used throughout this house, today we’ll get into why you don’t need a degree in color theory to figure out the right colors for your own home.
Emily combined several different colors throughout this chic abode so perfectly.
Let’s have a look at all the different ways Emily incorporated color through out her client’s home.
All of these spaces are great examples of how to get creative with different color schemes in the home.
We’ll discuss why and how an accent color and / or a secondary color might be just the thing to breath new life into your home.
Regardless of whether you’re familiar with primary colors or the complementary colors of the color wheel – it’s easy to use your favorite color throughout your home just by following these simple tips.
Personal Style
Starting with the stunning shade of coral paint above.
One of the best ways to choose an accent color like this is to pull the color from an area rug.
This creates a cohesive look, perfect for an open floor plan.
Bright Color and Classic Neutrals For Your Interior Space
Next up is the beautiful blue built in bookcase / media cabinet – the feature wall in the living room.
I love the color choices in this space so much, as I tend to prefer cool colors for their calming effect.
The paint colors in this living space compliment each other perfectly.
The neutral color of the walls and the main color of the blue on a single wall here create a focal point which grounds this space with so much style.
Emily kept the window treatments simple – this way it doesn’t compete for attention – letting the fun pop of color take the center stage.
I’m crazy about this bar area!
Emily sticks with the neutral wall colors and uses a beautiful shade of green to highlight the pretty cabinetry in this beverage nook.
It’s a simple detail which really enhances this small space and makes it look so special.
A Monochromatic color scheme in a neutral space.
A bedroom is a great place to choose different shades of the same dominant color.
In this room all the neutrals here have warm undertones which works perfectly with the subtle pop of pink on the lamp shade.
Neutral shades in various textures are the easiest way create such a soothing atmosphere and make the whole room feel so inviting.
Finally, the kitchen – this is such a beautiful example of bold contrasts.
When in doubt, black and white is always the perfect color palette.
