My recent post on the best paint colors for your living room sparked a few reader emails.
Since they all related to questions on the best greige paint colors for your home, I thought I’d address it in a post here today!
Whether you think of these as warm gray paint colors or like I do, simply as greige warm tones – I know you’re going to love this round up.
Best Greige Paint Colors
So, here are the most popular greige paint colors which I’ve personally used and loved in my own home.
Plus a few bonus colors which I had to include as their on my list of gorgeous warm shades to try one day.
Edgecomb Gray by Benjamin Moore
The first greige color is Edgecomb Gray by Benjamin Moore.
This is one of my all time favorite neutral colors to use.
I have a post dedicated to this perfect greige paint color – Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray.
You can see it in our primary bedroom here, in a sitting area which does not get a lot of natural light.
This is more of a taupe color with warm undertones.
I’ve been asked if this has green undertones to it in person and I can say it one hundred percent does not.
I think it’s one of the chicest and versatile neutral paint colors out there and would happily use it again.
Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore
Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore is another popular greige tone wall paint color and with good reason.
You can see it here on our former sitting room walls and read more about it as well.
This is such a beautiful color.
A friend of mine just used this in her dining room and it’s the perfect choice.
I’m going to try to get a photo of it to share with you here soon!
Balboa Mist by Benjamin Moore
Next up is Balboa Mist by Benjamin Moore.
This wall color is in my husband’s home office in our current home and it looks so great.
It’s a perfect neutral with slightly cool tones.
The trim color in this room is White Dove, a great choice as the colors pair perfectly together.
Cumulus Cloud by Benjamin Moore
The fourth warm neutral greige color I highly recommend is Cumulus Cloud.
This is a bit of a darker greige, with beige undertones.
Shown here are the greige walls of our upstairs landing.
The overall color scheme in this space is mostly neutrals, with a little bit of blue.
Agreeable Gray by Sherwin Williams
Lastly, I thought I’d include Agreeable Gray by Sherwin Williams.
Even though I haven’t personally used this color (yet) I get asked about it a lot in emails, so I thought I’d include it here.
Agreeable Gray is another perfect paint color as it truly works in so many different spaces.
As far as warm greige paint colors go Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray is an excellent choice.
Repose Gray by Sherwin Williams
While I haven’t personally used Repose Gray (yet) I did want to include it here, since it’s another warm gray paint color I know you’re going to love.
I do know Repose Gray SW 7015 has a light reflectance value of 57, which makes it a perfect mid tone warm gray without a lot of cool undertones.
Benjamin Moore Pale Oak
One more beautiful paint color I wanted to recommend is BM Pale Oak OC-20.
This one is a lighter greige and perfect for any design style.
As you can see from the chart above, despite being a light color, it fits in perfectly with the rest of these warm shades.
Which brings me to my next point…
Be sure to sample your shades of greige.
Ultimately you need to love the wall paint color in your home.
That’s why I can’t recommend trying it out as a sample in your home first enough.
Maybe this seems so obvious, but even the surrounding light from one room to another can differ.
Live with a few samples for a few days before making your decision.
Test it in natural and artificial light too!
Also test during different times of day as even the amount of light can drastically change the color of a neutral hue.
I always recommend using these Samplize adhesive paint samples.
The Samplize non-damaging adhesive backing allows for viewing in multiple locations and in different lighting without marking up your walls!
Produced with genuine manufacturer paint.
Such a brilliant product!
No messy paint cans and brushes to deal with!
If you’re at all curious, you can check them out and order them here.
I tend to use a lot of Benjamin Moore paints, but I have nothing against Farrow and Ball or Sherwin Williams paint, or any other well known paint brand.
These brands all offer similar options and can be found over on Samplize as well!

Hi
I was just browsing the web and found your site. I have a master bathroom in my late 1960s rancher. It has a separate room for the shower and toilet. That room has a window and is currently painted yellow with yellow tile surround. When you open the door you are in the main portion of the bathroom which has the cultured marble emerald green double sink vanity, It has a medium brown ceramic tile floor. My wife is thinking the right shade of green on the walls would allow us to leave the emerald green sinks and tops without replacing them. We want to prepare the house for sale and head to Hatteras, also trim and ceiling colors? We also want to paint the other rooms a dark gray-according to my painter and Zillow. I know you like the lighter grays but do you have a darker gray preference for walls and ceiling and trim whites or off whites?
I would go with white trim and defer to your broker regarding which paint colors would be best for resale – since it’s not down to your own personal style and taste at this point, but you know you’re going to be listing the home. Good Luck!
