Weekend Wrap Up

The foliage here in Connecticut is really starting to turn.

Hopefully the sun will come out this weekend so we can all get out and enjoy the scenery.

If not, I’ve got a long “to do” list of house projects.

Nothing exciting, just some over due closet clean outs and organizational things.

One thing which is exciting… (how’s that for a smooth segue?;)

If you missed my announcement on Instagram, I’ve got a new role as the Home editor of the new Bedford New Canaan Magazine!

The New York Post gave us a very positive shout out this week, which was pretty exciting.

Here’s the Instagram account for Bedford New Canaan Magazine if you’d like to follow.

Now on to this week’s round up of links….

Benjamin Moore Putnam Ivory

Benjamin Moore Putnam Ivory is another wall paint color I’m happy to talk about here today.

I just love this classic color and I think you will too!

Benjamin Moore Putnam Ivory

Last week’s post on painted wood floors, featured a photo with Putnam Ivory on the walls.

Since then I received a few inquiries about this particular wall color.

So,I figured a full post on this would be a great idea!

Putnam Ivory is a warm, tan neutral color.

In the interior design world this is considered to be a beige paint color.

As you can see from our former hallway above– this color looks great in natural light.

We paired it with Benjamin Moore’s White Dove on the trim, and went with a wallpapered grasscloth ceiling.

I think this color would be perfect with a white painted ceiling too.

You can read more about which ceiling Benjamin Moore paint colors we chose here.

decorative baskets storage solutions

This isn’t the first time I’ve spoken about my love for baskets in the home.

I’m sure it won’t be my last time either.

My favorite storage solution is to always add a basket!

In fact, almost every room in our house has at least one basket in it.

Since I added a few more to our home decor over the summer, I’d thought I’d dedicate a post to storage and decorative baskets here today.

A beautiful basket not only serves as a great way to store so many different things (toys, blankets, stuffed animals, firewood) but baskets add both warmth and pretty textures to a space as well.
