Flush mount lighting is a category I feel very confident talking about.
Today I’m going to show you my favorite trusted flush mount lights.
Talking about the ceiling light fixtures which I’ve used in several projects, often more than once, as well as some beautiful new picks I’ve got my eye on…
Flush Mount Lighting Favorites
Starting out with one of my favorite flush mounts, the Clark flush mount by Visual Comfort.
As you can see above, I first used this fixture in my guest bathroom renovation.
This stylish fixture comes in several different finish options (I’m very partial to the brass finish) and gives off lots of light.
It’s a great looking light fixture which works beautifully in a large variety of rooms.
This light seamlessly fits several different design styles as well.
Flush Mount Ceiling Lights Defined
First things first…
What is a flush mount light?
A flush mount ceiling light is a popular option because these flush mount fixtures work in a variety of rooms and homes.
Since these lights are made to be installed close to the ceiling or flush to the ceiling (hence the name), these are great options for smaller spaces and/or lower ceilings.
What are semi-flush lights?
Semi-flush lights are fixtures which are a bit larger and hang a bit lower on the ceiling.
For purposes of this post, I’ve included a bit of these larger options here today as well.
Lighting Favorites
As you can see above, I ended up using this very same fixture again in a kitchen a few years later.
It’s a popular choice because it looks so great in almost any space…I would say this is my all time favorite flush mount to date.
These photos (above and below) are all from a beach house renovation we did on a house we eventually sold.
This fixture here above is another favorite.

But, I digress…back to these ceiling lights-
I went with this option in both the entry and guest bathroom of this home.
It proved to be a great idea because it’s very low profile and it’s a great price.
This is SO important here in these smaller spaces because the ceilings were somewhat low.
Also, the bright light it gave off was great.
Sometimes this crucial detail gets overlooked!
In addition to low ceilings, you need to pay attention to the number of light bulbs inside flush-mount lights as well as the wattage.
I tend to veer away from using fixtures with only one light bulb if the space in question is fairly dark.
Like so many design details I now know to pay attention to, I learned this one the hard way.

It’s worth mentioning, you might want to consider installing a dimmer switch.
Something I almost always recommend, as it affords so many more mood lighting options.

I love all of these! We are really on the same wavelength this week! I just used one of the Visual Comfort ones in my foyer, and have another for my closet redo! Love them! Then I am getting a sort of Flush Lantern in black for my laundry room soon. I have to find a sort of ditsy black and white print for the ceiling first……hard to do…
