Modern Coastal Beach House Decor Ideas

Back today with part two of our Rhode Island beach house remodel.

If you’re looking for some fresh beach house decor ideas, or just love the coastal look in general…today’s post is for you.

Today I’m sharing the family room, primary bedroom and a guest bathroom.

Just like in part one, which focused on the living room, dining room and kitchen, all of these beautiful “after” photos are by Jane Beiles.

Beach House Decor Ideas

Our goal for this home was to keep things light and fresh with a coastal modern twist.

Family Room Design

Starting things off with the family room.

Long time readers may remember our former beach house project.

We had Pimlico Interiors help us out with the decor in this home, and luckily for us – the furniture and rug from the the family room in the other house all fit perfectly in this room!

As you can see, the bones of this house are pretty great!

All we did was paint the walls Benjamin Moore OC-151 white, lighten up the floor stain, swap out the ceiling fan for a modern light fixture and more our stuff in.

We left the bookcases the same pretty blue gray paint color and had it color matched to bring the same color all the way down to the floor for a more cohesive look.

Beach House Bedroom Decor

In the primary bedroom we took a similar approach.

We added roller blinds to the windows (on an automated remote) for privacy, swapped out another ceiling fan for a light fixture, lightened the floors, wallpapered the walls with this pretty grasscloth paper and changed the furniture.

Beach House Bathroom Decor

Last, but not least…(since we changed quite a bit here) is the guest bathroom.

We redid the floors, added wallpaper, changed the lighting, added sconces, switched hardware, faucets and countertops.

And went with shutters here, again for privacy.

Of course we left this charming claw foot bath!

Not mention the bead board wainscoting – like I said, the house has great bones.
