Beach House Renovation: Kitchen and Dining Room Reveal

I’m so excited to finally share our Rhode Island beach house renovation with you!

All of these beautiful “after” photos are by Jane Beiles.

Jane photographed both the house in its beautiful natural light along with some great outdoor spaces.

The problem was simply narrowing down which images to use here…ultimately I had to break this down into two parts.

Today will be part one which features our kitchen and dining room.

The problem was simply narrowing down which images to use here…ultimately I had to break this down into two parts.

Today will be part one which mainly features our kitchen and dining room.

BEACH HOUSE RENOVATION

Ok, I said this was about the kitchen and dining room and I’ve already now shown the back of the house and the here’s the front living room…

But it does show into the dining room and kitchen.

We created the opening on the left and had the contractor match the transom windows on the right in order to give the whole space a more open look.

Below is the “before” shot without the opening.

One small change made a huge difference to this part of the house.

The rest of the changes are purely paint and furnishings.

We stained the hardwood floors a lighter shade using a custom mix of Minwax stains.

The walls are all painted Benjamin Moore OC-151.

Part two will focus on the rest of the house – the family room where we spend the most time, second floor primary bedroom and guest bathroom.

This is the same room facing the opposite direction.

Dining Room Refresh

Next up is the dining room.

This room has so much character and charm.

Here is the before photo of the dining room.

Beach House Kitchen

And, finally here is the kitchen.

In here we replaced the old granite counters with Quartz counter tops.

We also added a backsplash, painted everything and built out the center island.

My favorite posts are when you show your homes. It’s especially nice when you provide links for decor purchases. Keep them coming! Do you still have your home in Florida? I would love to see that too! You’re really talented.

Thanks so much! We bought a new home in Florida not too far from our old home. I mostly show it on Instagram right now as it’s very much a work in progress still. Hope to have some good photos on the blog soon. But it’s in my highlights on Instagram if you want to take a peek.
