The Best peanut butter banana smoothie

Lately I’ve been feeling a bit run down – I need to take better care of myself.

Especially, if I plan on keeping my sanity and health in tact.

A big part of this is eating right…which I typically do, at least at mealtimes.

But, where I always tend to drop the ball is an afternoon snack or two…

I’m trying to change my “peanut M&M loving” ways with some healthier options.

My new “go to” these days are easy and quick fixes, like this banana peanut butter smoothie, it’s the best!

Banana and peanut butter is a classic combo and makes for such a good smoothie.

It’s also a great way to start your day and is fast becoming my favorite healthy breakfast.

It’s all healthy ingredients and I think it’s a winner.

Healthy and Easy Smoothie Recipe

Here’s the Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie simple ingredients:

1 frozen banana for a thicker smoothie (fresh bananas work fine too!)

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk – I’ve also used Greek yogurt and regular milk and both work great!

a handful of ice

tbs. flax seeds or Chia seeds for an extra boost of extra fiber

a few drops of vanilla extract

1 tablespoon of my favorite smoothie ingredient – smooth natural peanut butter (or almond butter)

Optional: A scoop of high protein powder

Mix ingredients in a blender until a creamy texture is reached.

Lastly, enjoy this delicious drink!

vita mix blender with green smoothie in it.This is the blender we use.

I’m obsessed with my high-speed blender by Vitamix, and I have friends that swear by their Magic Bullets as the best blenders too.

It’s a great afternoon pick me up.

You can also add a handful of spinach, you won’t even taste it.

And, if you don’t like Almond Milk, feel free to use any type of milk you have.

Additionally, I also love this with skim milk.

Hope you enjoy this quick breakfast or after school snack treat!

I'm a huge fan of smoothies! I make them every morning. To ad a small bite of ginger to the banana smoothie gives a fresh – an a kind of healthy – twist to it.
