How To Select The Perfect Wallpaper For Your Home

Given how much I love to use wallpaper in my home, I can’t believe I haven’t done a round up of my top wallpaper picks already.

I’ve narrowed it down to just a few here, only because to list all my favorites would create a post far too long.

Hopefully these examples, along with a few insights as to how these choices were made, will help you choose the perfect paper for your own home!

Kicking things off with our blue and white bathroom.

The wallpaper here is by Quadrille Fabrics.

It was a custom order and one the priciest of all the paper I’ve used in my home, but for me it was worth it.

I get more questions about this paper than any other, so I’m guessing people love it as much as I do.

Sometimes you can find this paper on Etsy, for a great price.

Depending on the size of the project, it might be worth it to look there.

Here’s more info on this bathroom, including sources and the before and after shots.

Palm Print In Powder Room Perfect Wallpaper For Your Homephoto by Nicole Cohen

Choose Wallpaper Which Will Work With The Colors In Your Home

Next up is Cole & Son’s palm wallpaper.

Finding this paper for our guest bathroom was a lifesaver.

I was looking for the perfect print to work with the gray tiles already in this bathroom.

However the other colorways this paper comes in are all stunning!

Highly recommend pulling out colors which already exist in a room, like bathroom tiles.

Once the wallpaper goes up, the entire color choice looks intentional and more cohesive.

This post has the full before and after shots and all the sources for this project, which was part of the One Room Challenge in 2015.

Speaking of the One Room Challenge, I also transformed our laundry room (above) in 2016.

Once again the wallpaper was the hero in this room’s makeover.

Cole & Son’s Nuvolette Black and White Storm is still one of my all time favorites, I love it every time I see it!

Woods Print Perfect Wallpaper For Your Home

Follow Your Instincts – This will lead to your perfect wallpaper choice.

If you really LOVE a print or pattern – just GO for it!

Using your own taste and style is the most important part of selecting the perfect wallpaper for your home.

Right before I started this blog, we renovated our former condo in Vermont.

I wish I had the before and afters of this transformation.

I know this Cole & Son’s Woods wallpaper is now pretty trendy, but I still love it as much as the day I chose it, almost ten years ago!

A testament to following your instincts.

If you really love a print, chances are high you are not going to get tired of it.

I know some people worry about this.

Speaking of really loving a print…I can never get enough of Les Touches by Brunschwig and Fils.

Seen here in our finished third floor attic space. I chose it again in the guest bathroom of our former beach house.

In fact, I love it so much I dedicated a whole post to it!

Another wallpaper I love to use again and again is grass cloth.

This is more of a wallpaper type than a specific print.

We have it in our bedroom and it makes the room seem warmer and cozier.

I don’t remember the exact make, but Phillip Jeffries and Ralph Lauren Home make some of the best looking ones around.

I also love to use this chic paper on ceilings!

Finally, I thought I’d include one paper I’m hoping to eventually use one day.

This fun pattern called Prianao from Serena and Lily comes in a few different colorways, but the blue and white one here speaks right to me.

Love this post! Would love if you could do a sort of high/low post. Highlighting some more economical wallpapers to achieve a look similar to that of these higher end/pricier ones.
