Benjamin Moore Calm
Above is our current family room painted in Benjamin Moore Calm.
Like the name implies, Calm is such an easy, neutral color to work with.
Below I’ve highlighted several more great looking paint colors for you to consider for your own home.
It’s worth mentioning all of these paint colors we will be discussing today would also look great in a living room and dining rooms as well!
In fact, let’s address another popular question while we’re on it…
Should you paint all the rooms in your house the same color?
This is purely up to you.
There’s no wrong answer here…
Have I done this? No.
But, this is because I like to see a little variety from room to room.
If we lived in a more modern open concept home, I might feel differently…
OK, on to the family room wall paint colors.
White family room Paint Colors
I happen to think an all white painted family room is an excellent choice.
Especially for a small room, because a white bright color will always open things up.
Whereas dark colors tend to create more of an intimate, moody environment.
Something to think about if you’re considering some darker shades.

This next family room paint color idea is another personal favorite of mine.

This could be the perfect paint color choice if you’re looking to make a space feel bright and modern.

The family room walls on both our former beach house and our current one are both painted in this beautiful color.
So, obviously we’re big fans!
This wall color is a great choice and a favorite among many top interior designers.
Probably because it’s the perfect backdrop for your living space – letting the personal style of your furnishings take the center stage.

We have this very popular color almost everywhere in our home.
You really can’t go wrong with this classic color, it’s seriously fool proof.
I think it looks best if you have some architectural features you want to highlight.

Cream and Off White Family Room Paint Colors
A creamy or off white color palette is a great way to add a bit more warmth to your family room space.

I think this warm tone can really make a room feel so inviting.

The Importance Of Wall Paint Samples
Ultimately you need to love the paint colors you choose for your walls.
Which is why I can’t recommend trying it out as a sample in your home first.

Test Out Different Light Sources
Because even the surrounding light from one room to another can change, and this will absolutely alter the look of even the best paint color.
Live with a few samples for a few days before making your final decision.
Always be sure to test the color in natural and artificial lighting too!

Can you just paint an accent wall in your family room?
While this is purely a personal choice, I don’t recommend just painting one wall.
Paint them all for the best effect and choose an accent color for your art and accessories instead.
