This round-up on the best cream paint colors first appeared here last year.
Since we’re going to be repainting our Florida home soon, I thought I’d bring it back…
As for my own paint color decisions, I’m considering using at least one of these warm cream colors for almost every room in our vacation home.
Cream wall paints are growing so much in popularity right now.
Like most people, I’m craving a bit of warmth and moving away from all bright white interiors and more towards soft whites.
All of these colors have a light reflectance value between 83 and 90 and they all have warm undertones.
So let’s get into some of these popular paint colors…
Benjamin Moore’s Linen White in natural light on our mudroom walls.
What are the best cream wall paint colors?
Cream wall paints will work in every room of your home.
Interior designers rely on these creamy white color choices when designing a living room, family rooms, dining rooms – really any living space.
A neutral color palette is a chic and classic design decision you will never regret.
These warm creams are all popular for a reason.
Beautiful and inviting – these versatile neutral wall colors are such an easy color scheme to work with.
However, sometimes finding the right shade of cream can be daunting.
So today, I’m all about narrowing down these options to three of the best cream wall paint colors to use.
When it comes to warm tones in white paint colors, these are all tried and tested wonderful options.
You can’t go wrong with these versatile paint colors.
Benjamin Moore Linen White
Starting off with Benjamin Moore’s Linen White.
This neutral paint color with creamy undertones is what we have on our mudroom walls (as seen in the image above.)
Are there any yellow undertones here?
The answer is yes, there is a slight bit of yellow tones in this light color paint, but it’s very subtle.
The contrast of this warm, rich cream color with our dark wood floors works great in this room.
Like many neutral paint colors, this cream wall paint also works great with a white trim color.
All of the trim work in our mudroom is painted in White Dove by Benjamin Moore – it’s one of my favorite accent colors and really always a great choice.
Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace
Our guest bedroom with Chantilly Lace on the bedroom walls – a favorite cream color paint.
This color is getting very popular and for good reason!
While I have more of a detailed review of Chantilly Lace in a separate post, I did want to mention it again here.
This warm cream color is a great option to keep in mind when looking for a new color.
After seeing it in our guest bedroom, above, I’ve become a big fan of this color.
Chantilly Lace has a slight warmth to it.
It’s the perfect color for a cozy bedroom vibe.
I love the sense of serenity this color has.
This is also a great color choice for your kitchen cabinets!
Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee
Our upstairs hallway.
The third cream wall paint color I recommend is Benjamin Moore’s Swiss Coffee.
This is a fabulous soft neutral paint choice.
Swiss coffee is such a classic color and it’s one of my all time favorite colors.
We have this beautiful subtle color on our hallway walls and it continues up the stairs to our finished attic.
Like most center hall colonial homes, the lighting is not great in this hallway so I tried to take two different angles to give you a better sense.
This is a gentle cream color which contrasts perfectly with our dark hardwood floors.
I’ve got a full blog post dedicated to Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee.
In it, you can see how our dining room looked with this warm neutral wall color, and why it’s always such a popular choice.
Swiss Coffee looks great with the brown neutrals of our antelope runner.
Sample Your Cream Wall Paint Color Choices
You need to love the paint colors you choose for your walls.
Which is why I can’t recommend trying it out as a sample in your home first.
Because, as you can see from my photos above – even the surrounding light from one room to another can differ.
It’s so important to consider your light source, as this will vastly change the look of the actual paint color.
Even the time of day can have a huge impact here.
Also, don’t underestimate the importance your floor colors can play here.
They all can reflect light differently.
Live with a few samples for a few days before making your final decision.
Always be sure to test the color in natural and artificial light too!
Also, another great way to test out a paint color are these self stick paint samples.
Doesn’t this sound so clever?
No multiple trips to the paint store and no messy paint cans to deal with before you commit! Win/win!
If you’re at all curious, you can find them here and try it out as a sample in your home first!
Samplize peel and stick paint sample.
I tend to use a lot of Benjamin Moore paints, but I have nothing against Farrow and Ball or Sherwin Williams, or any other well known paint brand.
These brands all offer similar cream color options and can be found over on Samplize as well!

I like what you have to say
We painted our house (my husband loves when I say we 🤷🏼♀️) wall’s Benjamin Moore “calm” and trim “ chantilly lace” a couple years ago and every time I take a close look at it I smile. The color calm really does calm me. Thank you because I found these paint colors on your blog.
Thanks for letting me know! Love to hear this…and it calms me too:)
Any further recommendations paired with White Dove trim?
yes, OC 151 and simply white by Benjamin Moore:)
Linen White all the way! It’s soft and elegant. We have it on the trim or walls throughout our house. We have it on some walls with biscuit colored trim. Then I reversed it in the living room and did the biscuit on the walls It’s beautiful with wallpaper.
Thanks! Love how this sounds, must look beautiful!
